The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Is Breathtaking

Aston Martin has had a long relationship with Italian design house Zagato, and the cars that have emerged from the partnership have been unbelievably gorgeous. The DB4 GT Zagato from 1960 is now one of the most expensive cars in the world and the recent V12 Vantage Zagato is one of the most beautiful cars of the last decade.
And now we have the Vanquish Zagato Concept that Aston Martin will introduce at the annual Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on May 21st.
Aston has uprated the Vanquish to 592 horsepower from the 5.9 liter V12, but who really cares? This one isn't about performance upgrades, it's about looks. And this thing looks amazing.
In Zagato and Aston tradition, the Vanquish has a huge grille, a lovely double bubble roof, and small circular taillights. The grille integrates fog lamps, which look slightly odd at first, but that's made up for by literally every other design element.
The taillights are texturized, the roof seems to float, the double bubbles are wonderful, the front quarter panel detailing is exquisite, and yet it's still unmistakably an Aston Martin.
Technically, this is still a concept, but Aston's Zagato concepts have a damn good track record of making it to production. We have faith that this will too, a fitting sendoff before the Vanquish is replaced in the next few years. Expect the price to be outrageous.
