Bobby Brown: Whitney Houston was bisexual, had relationship with best friend

Whitney Houston had a secret lesbian romance with her best friend, according to her former husband Bobby Brown.

Rumors of a same sex love with Robyn Crawford had encircled the legendary singer for years, and Bobby told Us Weekly that there was a good reason for the rumors: They were true.

"I know," he told Us Weekly of the relationship between Whitney and her assistant and best friend. "We were married for 14 years. There are some things we talked about that were personal to us."

In his new book, Every Little Step, Bobby alleges that his ex-wife was bisexual.

"I'm a man and she was attracted to me," he told the magazine, in which he also claims that Whitney cheated on him with Tupac Shakur.

Whitney and her BFF met when they were teenagers in New Jersey when they both worked at a community center. They became close and Robyn became Whitney's assistant and creative director.

They traveled the world together.

While she was alive, Whitney often denied claims that he was bisexual and had a romance with Robyn, but the father of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown said that was only to appease her family. Her mother, Cissy Houston, did not approve of a lesbian relationship and even tried to convince Whitney to fire Robyn, he said.

Cissy even told Oprah Winfrey that it would have "absolutely" bothered her if Whitney had a same sex romance.

"I really feel that if Robyn was accepted into Whitney's life, Whitney would still be alive today," Bobby said. "She didn't have close friends with her anymore."

After Whitney's death in 2012, Robyn wrote in an article for Esquire about her friend, saying that Whitney was "a loyal friend" who "looked like an angel."

"I loved her laughter, and that's what I'll miss most," she wrote.
