Last week, hip-hop superstar Drake grabbed headlines when his new album Views sold 600,000 copies exclusively on iTunes in 24 hours. This week however, the Canadian rapper is dazzling in another big way—he’s got a new set of wheels.
Drake was
recently pictured on Instagram taking delivery of this rare
2016 McLaren 675LT supercar from Toronto’s Driving Emotions Motorcar, one of just 500 “LT” coupes built
as a tribute to the Le Mans-winning McLaren F1 GTR Longtail race cars.
With a starting
price of $350,000 for a coupe and an even higher $373,000 for its Spyder
variant, these are quite the expensive machines. And if you were hoping to get
one, well… sorry. They all sold out long ago.

Not familiar with
the all-new ‘Longtail’? The McLaren 675LT effectively takes the McLaren 650S to
the next level, slicing over 220 pounds from its curb weight, adding new
aerodynamic looks for a 40 percent increase in downforce, and bringing engine
modifications that result in 666 horsepower and dashes to 124 miles per hour in
just eight seconds. It’s not for the faint of heart.
As far as pure
driver’s cars go, Drake picked quite a good one. McLaren’s own CEO even called
the 675LT the “closest thing there is to a McLaren P1.”
Not a bad comparison for sure.
It isn’t the first supercar
Drake has had, however. The Toronto-based rapper has also famously owned a
Lamborghini Gallardo and a rare Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir, which cost well north of $2 million.
