We don't doubt that the Bugatti Chiron is a marvel of engineering, but it was also never destined to be nearly as ground breaking as the Veyron. Still, that doesn't mean we didn't want to drive one from the second it was announced.
And after getting a taste of how it sounds, we're even more anxious to get behind the wheel.
If you're not familiar with the Chiron's specs, its 8.0-liter W16 engine is a heavily reworked version of the one found in the Veyron. This time, however, it makes nearly 1500 horsepower, which should be enough to launch the Chiron to 60 mph in a tick over two seconds. As for its top speed, the car is limited to 261 mph but is rumored to be capable of hitting 288 mph.
Not everyone is going to be a fan of how the car sounds at idle, but once it starts moving forward, there's no mistaking the Chiron for anything other than a car with a huge amount of power. Thankfully, the driver has the courtesy to let us listen to the engine rev, too.
And when it revs, it sounds so evil. We can't wait to hear what one sounds like at full throttle on the track.
