His Grace, AJV Obinna who is the catholic bishop of Owerri Diocese surprised many when he joined members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) rally in Nkpor, Anambra State.

The bishop reportedly went all the way from Owerri to join IPOB in the procession and was warmly
accepted.

The rally later turned bloody as it was reported that the protesters had a face-off with security operatives which led to the death of some IPOB members. The Movement for the Actualisation of a Sovereign State Of Biafra blamed IPOB members for the face-off with security operatives which also led to two police officers being thrown into the Niger River. Although both groups are agitating for an independent Biafra state, they do not agree on some actions and some of their ideologies differ.
